HA! Aunt Helen introduced me to that "Put a Bird on it" video and since then every time the girls and I see something with a bird on it, we want to take a picture and send it to her. I didn't realize YOU loved birds too. :-) I love the start to your quilt and how it coincides with the completion of a chapter in the book. Great idea! Now I know that when the quilt is finished, I'll have a new book to read. xoxo

I love your bird block! It is great, along with that fabulous link to 'put a bird on it'! I just finished a wall hanging with...get this...birds on it. :) And now I am going to have the theme 'put a bird on it' the rest of the night! Good luck with your quilt!

It's so cool that you're making progress on your book! I have the Swoon pattern and love it. I hope to get a chance to make it some day. I really love your fabrics and that fussy-cut bird in the center.

We have so much in common. I have been contemplating a quilt inspired by a Frank Lloyd Wright window, too!

I love everything about this post...love the word "swoon", and what a great name for a quilt pattern...so old fashioned, and I've always had a fascination for the word "swoon" when I've read it in books since I was young(er).
Your fabrics are wonderful (oh, my goodness..the dictionary print is awesome!), and I love the "put a bird on it" as I am immediately in love with most things that someone has put a bird on. What is it about birds that is so charming?!!
I think you should use images of your quilt blocks as headers for each chapter of your
book : )
So excited for you to be making your very own quilt!

I always enjoy the fabrics you choose to go into your quilts, you put the colors and patterns together so well. This Dresden block is no exception, I'm sure it will be beautiful. You know, Kurt Vonnegut described the City of Dresden, before it was bombed during the war, like Oz in Slaughterhouse 5. Yet another Fantasy book connection in a different context, good luck.

Dresden plate is one of my all time favorite quilt patterns! I made six chair pads each with a Dresden plate for my kitchen table chairs many years ago.

I'm going to do a Dresden plate....Just haven't decided on my fabrics yet. I think yours turned out really swell!

Those books sound good. My hubby loves fantasy. I'll have to tell him about it. I like the guy's new haircut. :-)
